What AI does with your player video (and how to help it)
More and more scouting platforms use artificial intelligence to review videos: they detect the player, follow them during the match and tag actions such as passes, dribbles or shots. That way a scout can go straight to the moments they care about.
But AI sees worse than a person. If the camera is far away, the video is shaky or the shirt number cannot be read, it can confuse one player with another or miss important actions.
To help it (and the scout), film from a high, steady position with the whole pitch in view. Make your number clear, or add a circle that points you out. Include complete actions, before and after touching the ball, and avoid effects or music that cover the play.
For players under 18, the family must authorise the recording and its publication. Before uploading a video to a platform that uses AI, read what it does with the data and whether you can delete it.
